Working from home...

Most who follow this blog know that the company I work for is shutting down. Not a lot to do, so I mostly work from home, answering a few emails, pay some bills and the like. In between applying for jobs, I've also been watching a lot of news on TV.

One realises one's been watching too much TV news when one starts developing a crush on news readers!

In the old days, news presenters were the mature, graying serious type. One just turned the TV on and went about doing other things, catching snippets of what's happening in the world. Unfortunately, TV companies have caught on and in the chase for eyeballs, attractive faces have been appearing on the box.

The two who's got me drooling are Juanita Phillips on ABC and Peta-Jane Madam on SBS... oh well, it's time for the 7:00pm news ;)

We are being marketed to all the time. Sex sells, and so even the newscasters use that approach because it works every time, even if the content is maddeningly superficial.

I think its best not to listen to the news at all. Its so depressing really. I thought Sandra Sully was the pin up girl. You have good taste in newsreaders. Hope you are going ok given everything. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Annie: You're right, sex does sell and most of the time, sex has nothing to do with the product!

Lilly: Before never made it home for the early news, except for Anton or Lee Lin at 9:30 on SBS . Suave he may be, but Anton's not one I would turn gay for and Lee Lin? No comment :)

So glad to hear that you're "up" with all the latest news. It's wicked good to be informed and turned on, I mean, tuned into current events....Eye-candy-news-porn, nuclear proliferation, multiple wars, Ireland bankrupt, body scans...it's all good! Peace
