Yup, thank god it's Friday and it's a long weekend too. Queen's birthday Monday, 11 June! God bless the Queen I say, no matter what the republicans believe in.

What a week!

1. We have a bunch of Greeks fiddling (or fighting) while Athens burn. Global financial calamity but who cares? Not the Greeks.

Ilias Kasidiaris of the Golden Dawn party throwing water at the left-wing
Syriza party member and then smacking the Communist Party member in the face.

2. Next up, we find some ladies stabbing each other over a pair of shoes. Mid season sale is now on at all department stalls.

Men, important point from this, never stand between a lady and shoes on sale!

Two girls are in hospital after stabbing each other in a tussle over shoes at the
Gold Coast's Robina Town Centre.

3. Finally, the pride of Aussie swimmers. Nick D'Arcy (the one on the left, punched fellow swimmer, Simon Cowley breaking his nose, was ordered to pay $181,000 in damages, but declared bankruptcy) and Kenrick Monk who claimed he was the victim of a hit and run when he actually fell off his skateboard.

What a strange world we live in! That hit-and-run excuse when all he did was fall off his skateboard is a disgrace.

God Bless the Queen Indeed! Hope that she enjoyed her Jubilee. Kind of hard not to when a million people are cheering for you!

Guess what, long weekend and it rained and rained!

It does all sound pathetic when you lump all these stories together. Although the whole gun/Olympic swimmer photo incident was a storm in a teacup I thought. I just did not get what all the furore was about. As for shoes and sales, yes I have been in Myers at an anuual sale once and nearly trampled. Never again. People are lunatics, ok, well women are lunatics at sale time. Give me internet shopping any day.

Guess boys will be boys... still can't condone Nick bashing Simon.
