In 2007, I blogged about Duaa Khalil Aswad - murdered by a mob of men, about Cindy Sheehan who asked why her son died and about Mary of Bethany, sister to Lazarus, the lady who anointed Jesus.
Today, we remember Shabana whose bullet-riden body was found slumped on the ground in the centre of Mingora's Green Square, strewn with money, CD recordings of her performances and photographs from her albums.
A Taliban leader admitted to the killing because of her un-Islamic vices. He warned that his men had killed her and if any other girls were found performing in the city's Banr Bazaar they would be killed "one by one". Read more at the Telegraph and the Daily Mail.
